How to Join

The OpenMP Architecture Review Board (ARB) welcomes feedback from the public on the
OpenMP Specifications.
Please use the feedback page
for this purpose. The ARB strives to answer questions regarding the interpretation of the
specifications and requests for enhancement of the specifications.
The OpenMP specifications are designed by the members of the
OpenMP ARB. The mission of the ARB is to standardize shared
memory multiprocessing APIs. The specifications are freely
available and do not require a license to use. It is not
necessary to become a member of the ARB in order to release
OpenMP products.
The following are the membership dues for members of the OpenMP ARB:
- A joining fee of US $5000.00
- An annual fee of US $3000.00
OpenMP Permanent Membership Criteria
An organization applying for permanent membership to OpenMP must
- have either participated in the definitions of the specifications
or served as an auxiliary member for at least one term,
- not have missed more than two consecutive meetings or tele-conferences
and not more than 50% of the meetings or tele-conferences of the
Architecture Review Board during the last term,
- declare a commitment to work with the OpenMP community to improve
the technical quality of OpenMP, and to promote OpenMP as a parallel
programming discipline,
- commit to provide corporate support for OpenMP. This includes
incorporating OpenMP into corporate and product messaging, allocating
marketing resources to OpenMP activities, events and communications, and
- sign a membership agreement to abide by the OpenMP Bylaws.
OpenMP Auxiliary Membership Criteria
An organization or individual applying for auxiliary membership to OpenMP must
- have projects that either use OpenMP or provide tools for OpenMP,
- have an interest in working with the OpenMP community to improve
the technical quality of OpenMP, or a history of promoting OpenMP
as a parallel programming discipline, and
- sign a membership agreement to abide by the OpenMP Bylaws.
